The remix culture is upon us. It used to be that copyright law prevented anyone from touching a work of art, especially one like film or music, without paying a heavy royalty fortune. Technology has changed all that. The master tape is in the wild and the software tools to remix it are now cheap enough so even your average high school dropout can suddenly become the next Spielberg. Here’s one such example. Someone has remixed the movie, Back to the Future, into a touching homage to Brokeback Mountain. Laugh while you can, because once the studio lawyers get wind of this romance, divorce court is going to look like a cake walk by comparison.
