Imagine if your first day working at an ad agency involved creating a visual campaign for the introduction of a laxative. How would you go about communicating the brand’s identity with a set of feelings that would motivate the consumer to rush out and buy it.
Here’s one rather humorous attempt to sell Dr. Morepen laxatives. It depicts an Indian woman in before and after photos with the caption: Before 40 kg After: 39.4 kg. The punchline of the ad comes only after staring at the before and after photos; you suddenly realize in the after photo the woman is smiling. Cute.
