NPR recently did a segment on Elite Care’s monitoring technology being used in an assisted living facility. Here’s a peek at what the monitoring device looks like and how it works.
Creating an Autonomy-Risk Equilibrium (CARE)
CARE is Elite Care’s comprehensive “smart home” technology system that serves two primary audiences. The first is residents who want biofeedback and cues to prolong their independence. The second is staff who want ways to identify health problems early and objective quality control Elite Care Believes in Community Living for Senior Health Benefitsmeasurements.
Autonomy Enhancing Device (CARE) accomplishes these goals by:
- Gathering, storing, and transmitting health information using digital technologies, including the Internet, in real time;
- Providing behavioral cues to match an individual’s changing cognitive and physical condition;
- Enhancing social networks via e-mail and a Commonality Assessment; and
- Regulating the ambient conditions in the residential environment
The System’s technologies are unobtrusive, respect resident privacy, and do not interfere with resident lifestyles or alter the built environment.
