If you hate paying high prices for prescription drugs, then contact your representatives and tell them so. Isn’t it time pharmaceutical companies stop gouging Americans while supplying the rest of the world with cheap drugs?
The AARP is launching a $500,000 ad campaign today in 14 states pushing for Senate action on legislation that would let consumers buy U.S.-made prescription drugs from Canada and other countries.
David Certner, legislative policy director for the advocacy group, said the campaign focuses on the home states of senators who have shown some openness to letting people buy U.S.-made medicine shipped abroad.
”This is going on right now regardless of the law. People are going outside the country to buy their medicine,” he said. “We want to make sure the system is as safe as we can make it.”

Tell Your Senator to Co-Sponsor Rx Importation Bill!
AARP is committed to working with both political parties in Congress as well as the White House to help ensure that all Americans have access to the most affordable prescription drugs possible.
One way of doing this is to allow the safe, legal importation of prescription drugs from Canada and other approved countries, where costs are often much lower than in the United States. The Dorgan-Snowe bill, S.334, would set up a process to allow the safe, legal importation of prescription drugs into our country.
AARP is working aggressively to pass this bill in the Senate this month, but we need your help. Your Senator(s) is critical to the passage of your bill. Please type your zipcode into the “Take Action Now” box, and tell your Senator to co-sponsor S.334, the Dorgan-Snowe Rx Importation bill.
