My Cancer: We’re Not Moral Guardians

Now that he has cancer, Leroy Sievers finds he makes folks uncomfortable about their own less-than-healthy choices. Despite the unique perspective cancer patients have, he doesn’t think they have special moral authority.

After that day, your life is never the same. “That day” is the day the doctor tells you, “You have cancer.” Every one of us knows someone who’s had to face that news. It’s scary, it’s sad.
