There’s a pessimism that creeps into an older adult’s attitude toward the world. Respect lost its virginity years ago and now all that exists is gimme mine before I take yours. It’s nice to read that Tony Bennett got into the youth trenches where he learned all that blabber about the good old days belongs on the lips of those who stopped living before their time. Kudos to his son for being savvy enough to navigate the 21st Century media and deliver up a legend.
“Everybody my age can’t help but have an attitude about how much better it was in the old days,” he said in an interview at his apartment overlooking Central Park. “What I’ve learned from this is the professionalism of the people more than 10 years younger than I am. They knocked out any attitude I might have had.”
