The Jimi Hendrix Experience
A rare colour illustrated concert poster The 1968 Pop Festival, The Jimi Hendrix Experience Gulfstream Park, Hallandale, Miami, Florida, 18-19 May, 1968 — 18½x14½in. (47×36.8cm.)
The Miami Pop Festival was organised by Michael Lang, who later went on to organise Woodstock. The event was scheduled to be a three-day event including bands such as Frank Zappa And The Mothers Of Invention, John Lee Hooker, Arthur Brown and Chuck Berry as well as The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The first day was a success but the next two days were washed out by rainstorms, inspriring Hendrix to pen the song Rainy Day, Dream Away.
Few copies of this poster are known to be in existence and they rarely surface on the auction market.
