on Aug 2nd, 2007Infrastructure of America Fails While Taxpayer $$$ Spent in Iraq
The Interstate 35W bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis portends the future in America. While President Bush willfully spends taxpayer revenue supporting a worthless effort (forget the word war, that’s just an excuse to usurp legal power under our Constitution through the Executive Branch) in Iraq, building and then rebuilding destroyed infrastructure, the Federal dollars that would have gone to upgrading or replacing the aging infrastructure in this country are not available; it’s been spent for generations to come. One day all the fools who voted for this President not once, but twice, will need to acknowledge they have failed to uphold the values of this country in the name of greed and self-interested indulgence.
Ponder this: The John Warner National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2007 includes a provision that allows the “Use of the Armed Forces in Major Public Emergencies.” This essentially empowers the President to declare martial law without the consent of Congress under circumstances that may or may not be legitimate from a state’s point of view. This is really a devious response to the Governor and Mayor of Louisiana telling Bush to stick it after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans.
It’s time to impeach Bush and Cheney…and you Republicans thought a blow job was a big deal.
