It took awhile, but we’re pretty happy that Dan Rather has decided to call CBS’ out onto the political carpet for not standing behind him when he was investigating Bush’s military record. Remember those days when everyone seem more interested in the gossip rather than the question itself. I mean, what happened to those Bush military records? Where did they go? Somebody should have been dumpster diving back then in order to preserve history. On the other hand, isn’t that what the Bush administration has been doing for most of his two terms: hiding behind a Patriot Act secrecy veil? Scheherezade may look good in a gauzy veil, but American democracy sure don’t. Here’s to Dan Rather for pulling out his Kirby vacuum and going head-to-head with CBS’ cheap Hoover.
