The one thing researchers seem incapable of figuring out is what makes the human mind happy. Is it money? Expensive objects? A house on the beach. Is it material versus spiritual? The answer, my friends, is not the leaves falling off the money tree in your background. It all boils down to one thing: social relationships…social, political, and family relationships. If you invest your time in making sure your social relationships work, then happiness awaits you like a dog peeking his head out of the kitchen curtains waiting for you to open the door so he can greet you with a wagging tail and friendly bark.
Oh, and “If a nation wants to increase its population’s sense of well-being, it should make ‘less investment in economic growth and more in policies that promote good governance, liberties, democracy, trust and public safety.’” Add that to your vision, Mr. McCain.
